Monthly
Visits to the Leprosy Home Greatly Appreciated

As many of you saw in the broadcast of
the April 2004 World Report of the Church, our visits to the
Leprosy home are greatly needed and much appreciated.
“It’s very important that people
like you do support; otherwise, this place is hard to
function. Your presence makes the day for them”, says
Francis Tan, director of SILRA.
“Whenever they come here we are
always very happy and delighted to see them.
We are looking forward for them coming
here for a long time to come. They bring a lot of joy to
us”, reports Lim Ahlee, a resident of the home.
Thanks to many of the members of the
Stake, we have been able to make monthly visits to our friends
at the Leprosy home. We usually bring a treat for them to eat
while we visit together.
Once the residents brought out the
Karaoke equipment and sang a few of their favorite songs.
During our May visit, many of us spent time with the resident
bonsai tree gardener. He grooms trees to sell in order to earn
a little bit of spending money.
Many of us were impressed with his work
and left the facility as proud owners of some very attractive
plants.
We plan to continue our
monthly visits to the home and invite all of you to
participate!
