As part of their post Youth Conference Service Project, more than 60 youths converged at Jamiyah Nursing Home on 10 July 2010. They were not there to have fun but to spend the afternoon giving a fresh coat of paint to one of the wards of the Nursing Home.
The turnout by the youths was beyond expectations. Mr Harawan Singh, the Supervisor of the home, was amazed by the large number of youths who was willing to sacrifice one afternoon to perform voluntary service to make the home brighter, fresher and more cheerful for the aged sick.
The youths performed many tasks including:
1. Cleared the ward of furniture
2. Got the walls ready for painting by wiping, masking and taking down fixtures on the walls and ceiling
3. Painted the walls
4. Cleaned and washed up the ward after painting
5. Returned the furniture into the ward. Re-attached the fixtures on the walls and ceiling
6. Cleaned windows and parapet along the 2nd and 3rd floors
7. Cleaned the ceiling fans
8. Some of the youth chatted up with some of the residents
By participating in this service project, the youths demonstrated their testimonies and faith in following Our Savior Jesus Christ and sought to obey His commandments. They are truly disciples of Jesus Christ by word and by deed.

Happy, energetic group.
